Pizza Hut in the Industry

Pizza Hut in the Industry

Writing a blog is a lot like fishing. Some people do it all the time and never catch anything while others catch everything. I started blogging in 2011; however, I rarely write a blog. Until I decided to write one for my professional communications strategies class. This blog is going to be about Pizza Hut Company which I chose for my final project promotional plan in this class.

Hamburgers might still be number one America’s food, but Pizza is definitely number two. You hardly can find someone who passes a week without even having a pizza once. Considering that pizza has become such a cultural touchstone from coast to coast, it is no surprise that U.S. pizza restaurant sales grew a little bit over the past year even as the economy continued to drag. With that been said, Pizza Hut is still the biggest pizza player, with 14.79 % of the U.S. market in 2014, according to CHD Expert and Technomic. This is not surprising, Pizza Hut has always been doing an excellent job when it comes to the marketing. They always done it in remarkably ways. Understanding Pizza Hut's strategy and how they applied it, as well as the challenges and how they dealt with them assure for any business in the same industry the success.

Store Counts and Sales Figures
It is easy to say that the industry of pizza restaurant has come through the full grown of its life. So many cities and towns reached the highest limit of pizza restaurants that people who live there can be able to support. Now, new pizza restaurants have had harder opportunity to open new restaurants. Also, harder opportunity to get into the business. Having said that, pizza sales in the States still rose over the past year, reaching $38,524,732,336 by the year ending September 30, 2014, according to data from CHD Expert. Meanwhile, total pizza restaurants count in the United State raise up by nearly to 4% in the 2014, and the plurality of that increase has come from independent restaurants.

History of Pizza Hut:
Pizza Hut was founded in 1958 by two brothers, Dan and Frank Carney in Wichita, Kansas. They were advised to open a pizza parlor by their friend. They had agreed with their friend idea that it could prove successful. To start a business they had to borrow $600 from their mother. It was the start of the biggest pizza name in the world. The whole history of Pizza Hut has been done through invention; however, Pizza Hut's history actually took off with integration into the Pepsi Company.
